CONDITIONAL SENTENCE
IF CLAUSE


1. TYPE 1 (REAL CONDITION)

Rumus:
S+will+V1 if S+V1

example:
1. i will pass the exam
if i study hard
2. if you are friendly, they will like you
3. the boy will get the bike if he offers higher price
4. if they are on time they will be able to watch the concert
5.if they are late the will miss this great performance
6. the boy will heard this news if you are careless in saying it
7. adi will be invited to the meeting if he is active as member
8. if the girl know this city well she not get lost
9. if the man is here he will meet his son
10. if she is loyal i will love her

2. TYPE 2 (UNREAL CONDITION)
Rumus:
S+WOULD+V1 if S+V2

FACT : the condition contraducts with the present condition

NOTE: "to be" for if clause type 2 is always "were"

example:
1. if you studied for the test you woulld pass it
FACT (you don't study for the test so you don't pass it)
2. if you asked me,i would help you
FACT(you don't ask me so i don't help you)
3. if she took the bus she wouldn't arrive on time
FACT(she doesn't take the bus so she arrive on time)
4. if i got a lot of money i would buy a car
FACT(i don't get a lot of money so i am do not buy a car)
5. i woud have a castle if i were a king
FACT(i don't have a castle because i'm not a king
6. if i had a pencil i wouldn't borrow your pencil
FACT(I don't have a pencil so i borrow your pencil)
7. if i were a cooky i would cook delicious food
FACT(i am not a cooky so i don't cook delicious food)
8. i would teach the student if i were a teacher)
FACT(I don't teaach the student because i'm not a teacher
9. if he like tennis he would buy buy a racket
FACT(he doesn't like tennis so he doesn't buy a racket)
10. if camels had wings they would be able fly
FACT(Camels haven't wings so they are not fly)

TYPE 3

RUMUS:
S+WOULD+HAVE+V3 IF S+HAD+V3

example:
1. if you had studied hard would have passed it
2. if you had asked me i would have helped you
3. if we had gone to the internet caffe we would to work the e-mail
4. if you can spoken indonesian she would have understood
5. they would have been home earlier if they had listened to me
6. i would have written you a letter if i had your address
7. if i had nt started to rain we would have walked to the market
8. if adi had a lot of money he would have bought a car
9. if she had taken the bycycle she would not have arrived on time
